Due to copyright reasons, we cannot publish the translation of the comprehensive article by the leading Danish financial daily.

The main new points of the article are :

  • the explanation of the role of Eutelsat AG in its partnership with the two Russian pay-TV platforms NTV+ and Trikolor. Both platforms transmit the Russian war propaganda channels but have ceased to broadcast to the Russian audience 8 international news channels (as described by the Denis Diderot Committee)

  • the questionning of the responsibility of Eutelsat CEO, Mrs Eve Berneke, a well known Danish manager who take over the leading position of the French satellite company last January

  • the fact that Mrs Berneke has denied to answer to the Danish daily and just referred to the press officer of the company. Eutelsat explains that it "pursues a strict policy of neutrality" and always adheres to the guidelines set by the regulatory authorities in France and the EU. This has led, for example, to the fact that signals from two pro-Russian television stations have already been prevented from being forwarded to a number of Western countries via Eutelsat's satellites.

  • a statement by Telecom analyst John Strand  "Eutelsat has had the opportunity to make a choice in the same way as every other company that has pulled out of Russia. There we must note that they have chosen Putin and have taken a different path than their colleagues. Therefore, I believe that Eva Berneke has positioned herself really badly the day the story  is to be written"

  • a statement by Jim Philippoff, one of the coordinator of the Denis Diderot Committe : "Eutelsat's 36 E° satellites are actually a very important piece because you have a very young population that is more sympathetic to the Ukrainian cause and is on the internet, but then you have the older part of the population that only watches TV, and this hits that segment"
